CASTLEKNOCK, CO. DUBLIN | 2007 - |
OVERVIEW The Lynchburg Mob is an alternative rock band from the Castleknock area of Dublin. The group was formed in the Summer of 2007 by Ian Plunkett [Vocals & Guitar] and Paul Stokes [Drums & Vocals]. The pair soon convinced another former classmate, Darragh Lynch, to join the group on guitar and keyboards. In late 2008, after a lengthy search, Brian Diskin joined the band on bass guitar and the lineup was complete. The band started gigging in early 2009 and, over the following months, the quartet played regularly across the city. The Lynchburg Mob made its recorded debut in March 2010 with the release of a self-titled EP. That release featured 'The Importance Of Remaining Earnest', 'Edgartown' and 'Revolutionise'. In October 2011,the group was chosen as one of 10 artists to feature on the 'Backstage Pass ::: Vol 1' compilation. The CD was given away with the Irish Daily Mail newspaper. The Lynchburg Mob contributed the track, 'El Mar' to that collection. 2007 - Band formed 2010 - Release of 'The Lynchburg Mob' EP [05 March] 2011 - The Lynchburg Mob contribute the track 'El Mar' to the 'Backstage Pass ::: Vol 1' compilation [15 October] |
