OVERVIEW Lazik is a world musical group based in Cork. With an international lineup, the group blends together an eclectic mix of international flavours - Balkan, Breton, Irish, Greek, Turkish and Yiddish. So what do they sound like? Well, the band's sound has been described as Irish-Gypsy-Balkan-Fusion. The group came together in 2005 with the core line up being Barry O'Donovan [Guitar], Dylan Gully [Clarinet & Kaval], Stella Rodrigues [Violin & Vocals] and Christelle Moisan [Flute, Vocals & Tea Shaker]. However, there have been many other who peformed under the Lazik banner. The group is best known as a live experience. The group has been active on the world and trad music festival circuit with appearances at the likes of the Cork Folk Festival, The Festival Of World Cultures in Dun Laoghaire. The group has also performed across Europe. In July 2011, the band released what is their only album to date, 'Far Fetched'.
