SWORDS, CO. DUBLIN 2011 -
OVERVIEW
Kodaline is a young alternative rock band from Swords, Co. Dublin. The group formed out of the ashes of 21 Demands. That band came to fame for two reasons. Firstly, the band came second in the Series 5 of You're A Star on RTE Television. Secondly, in March of 2007, the band made history with the release of their download single 'Give Me A Minute'. The single reached number one in the Irish single charts - the first time that a single reached number one on download sales alone. It was also the first time that an unsigned band topped the Irish single charts.

21 Demands came to an end in 2011. However, Stephen Garrigan [Vocals & Guitar], Mark Prendergast [Lead Guitar] and Vinny May [Drums] decided to form Kodaline. They recruited Jason Boland on bass guitar. In September 2012, the group announced its arrival on the music scene with the release of the 'Kodaline' EP.
