| OVERVIEW The Kinetiks were a rock band whose members came from across the North County Dublin Area. The group came together in 2005 with Gard Harding [Vocals & Guitar] and Sean Brennan [Lead Guitar] originally starting out as a covers group. The pair eventually decided that they wanted to create original material and put a band together. They enlisted the talents of local drummer, Jon McIntosh who, in turn, introduced them to Jim McGuire who assumed Bass Guitar duties. With the line up complete, The Kinetiks was formed. The fledgling group took inspiration from groups such as The Kinks, The Ramones, Arcade Fire and The Strokes. The band made its live debut at Voodoo Lounge in December of that year. The group played extensively over the following months. In late 2006, the band entered Ashtown Studios with Ciaran Bradshaw and recorded a number of tracks. These would eventually form the basis of the band's debut EP. 'The High Horse Olympics' EP was released in April 2007. The band released a further single, 'Shuffle Your Feet' in October. That year also saw Paul O'Donoghue replace Jon McIntosh behind the drumkit. The band kicked off 2008 with the release of a new single, 'Bite The Bullet'. The band continued to play live regularly including appearances at Oxegen, Indiependence and Le Cheile. The group returned to the studio in late 2008 - this time with Gareth Mannix and Marc Carolan. The group released the 6-track 'Aye Aye Aye Aye' EP in March 2009. 2005 - Band formed 2007 - Release of 'High Horse Olympics' E.P.
