BLANCHARDSTOWN, CO. DUBLIN DATES
OVERVIEW
Hazel Kaneswaran is a pop singer from Blanchardstown, Co. Dublin. She originally came to national attention as part of pop group, Dove during the latter part of the 1990s. The band released a number of singles including their reworking of the Crowded House classic, 'Don't Dream'.

After that band split around the end of the millennium, Hazel continued her quest for pop stardom. In 2002, she entered the 'Popstars : The Rivals' competition which aired on ITV television in the UK. However, she was eliminated from the show after it was discover that she was 10 days over the age limit for the contestants. The show went on to result in the creation of girl band, Girls Aloud. Kimberley Walsh replaced Hazel on the show and ended up joining the final group. Hazel had been pregnant during the filming of the show and gave birth to her first child in October of that year.

Undeterred by the rejection, Hazel returned to Dublin and started to think about launching her solo career. The following year, she released her debut solo single 'Heartbreak Valley'. She released two further singles - 'Crying Again' [2005] and 'Because The Night' [2005].

Since then, Hazel has concentrated on her growing family.
