The group is famous for featuring brothers Ken and Carl Papenfus and Darren Campbell. This trio would later go on to form Relish. The full line up of The Id was Brendan Kelly [Vocals], Ken Papenfus [Guitar], Carl Papenfus [Drums], Tony Brady [Keyboards] and Darren Campbell [Bass Guitar]. While there is little known about this group, it is known that The Id was active during the earlier part of the 1990s. In 1994, the band recorded a demo which featured the tracks 'It Only Gets Better', 'They Come And Go' and 'This Love'. After this outfit split, the Papenfus brothers went on to perform with 50/50 (along with Steafán Hanvey) before forming Relish along with old band mate Darren Campbell. There are no known official releases from The Id.
