OVERVIEW
Hozier was born Andrew Hozier-Byrne in Bray, Co. Wicklow. He grew up in a musical family with his father being a blues musician. He went on to enrol in Trinity College in Dublin to study music. However, midway through the first year he left to concentrate on his music career. He became involed with the musical collective Anuna in about 2007 and toured with them internationally.

In 2013, Hozier appear on the scene in as a solo artist. He had no idea what was about to happen when he released his debut EP, 'Take Me To Church'. The lead track from the EP went viral on YouTube and went Top 10 across the globe including getting to Number 2 in the UK, US and Ireland. He released a further EP, 'From Eden' in March 2014 and a single, 'Sedated' in May of the same year. Hozier's self-titled debut album followed in September. In December, 'Take Me To Church' was included in the list of Grammy nominations for Song Of The Year.

2015 started where 2014 left off. Hozier wonn the European Breaking Borders Award for his debut album. Between appearances at The Grammys, on The Tonight Show and at the Billboard Music Award, he found time to release two further singles - 'Work Song' and 'Someone New'. The video for the letter featured an appearance from actress Natalie Dormer. Hozier picked up two awards at the aforementioned Billboard Music Awards and rounded out the summer by winning Song Of The Year for 'Take Me To Church' at the Teen Choice Awards.

- Release of 'Someone New' single. The video for the single featured actress, Natalie Dormer [11 May]
- Hozierperforms 'Take Me To Church' at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. He was nominated for multiple awards - Top New Artist, Top Streaming Song (Audio) for 'Take Me To Church'. Top Rock Artist, Top Rock Song for 'Take Me To Church' and Top Rock Album for 'Hozier'. He walked away with two awards - Top Rock Artist and Top Rock Song. [17 May]
