2001 - 2006

OVERVIEW Holy Ghost Fathers was an Alt-Country band which was active during the early to mid 2000s. Formed in 2001 and with members from both Dublin and Sligo, the band may have been known as ZeroOneZero for a short period. At various times, the lineup of the band included Allen Blighe [Guitar, Banjo, Theremin & Vocals], Derek McElhinney [Guitar], Gareth McElhinney [Bass Guitaar] Philip Murray [Drums], Daniel O'Brien [Bass Guitar] and Jonathon O'Brien [Drums]. The band released its debut single 'Angelus Bell' in 2002. The single was warmly received and was named 'Single Of The Issue' by the Dublin Event Guide. The following year, the band launched its debut album, 'Cock Of The Walk'. The album demonstrated the band's maturing sound. There is little known about the band after this release. However, by 2006, Holy Ghost Fathers had come to an end and Allen had formed The Spook Of The Thirteenth Lock.
