DUNDALK, CO. LOUTH 1999 - 2005
OVERVIEW
In 1999 Declan Lawless [Vocals & Guitar] started jammin’ with his neighbour Colin Berril [Drums & Percussion] in what would later become Jaded and finally The Gurriers. The lineup of the outfit was completed with the addition of Alan Markey on Bass Guitar & Vocals. The first release from the 3-piece punk-rock band was the 'Spit Or Swallow' EP. The 5-track collection featured tracks such as 'Pessimist', 'Too Good' and 'Live It Up'. The band's second release. 'Kids On The Street' followed in 2003. A third EP entitled 'Kamikaze' was released in 2005.

However, that year also marked the end for The Gurriers. The band split. Colin would later play with American band Mercy Killers (featuring members of +44) before joining Monaghan indie-rockers The Flaws. Alan joined the reformed Loko Parentis who went on to release a number of acclaimed albums.
