MIDLETON, CO.CORK 2008 -
OVERVIEW
This Midleton-based quartet originally came together in 2006 under the moniker Robin Spider Greenfly. That band played a first gig in June of that year. Over the following months, the band developed a strong set of songs with a view to recording a debut EP. However, in 2008, it was felt that a change of name was required and Robin Spider Greenfly morphed into Goldfish Syndrome. The original line up of the band featured James Walsh [Vocals & Guitar], Anthony Walsh [Guitar & Vocals], Ciaran O'Donovan [Bass Guitar] and John Foley [Drums]. However, John was soon replaced on drums by Kieran O'Neill who had previously played with James as part of Hueman.

The band wasted no time and in February 2009 their debut EP, 'Timewarp' was unleashed. The collection was well received and the lead track 'Where Have All The Good Times Gone?' was included on the 272 Records compilation 'Riot On Sunset ::: Volume 15'. In April 2010, the follow-on EP was released. Produced by Larry Fricke, 'Moving On' included the tracks 'Bright Light Holiday', 'Alleyways' and 'Hey Charlie!' as well as the title track.

In 2011, the band started to work on their debut album in Germany with Larry Fricke at the helm. The first single to be lifted from the record, 'Alleyways' was released in January 2013. It was a further year before the album appeared. It hit the shelves in May 2014. The album was well received and drew comparisons to bands such as The Killers.
