GALWAY 1997/8 - 200x
OVERVIEW
Fuzzburger was a Galway-based band which was active during the latter part of the 1990s and the early years of the 2000s. The group went through a number of line up changes over the years. However, the line up at the time of the recording of the band's demo, 'Athlete's Face' was Jimmy Bowens [Vocals & Rhythm Guitar], John Burke [Lead Guitar & Vocals], Philip Finnegan [Bass Guitar & Backing Vocals], Eoin O'Kelly [Drums] and Michelle Couglan [Vocals & Percussion]. Michelle left in about 1999 and one of the later versions of the band was an all-male five piece. This lineup is unknown.

The band was very popular in its hometown and, in 1998, the band scooped top spot at the National University' Of Ireland Galway Eurochallenge. Next up for the band was some studio time at Black Rose Studios in Menlough in the company of Aidan Reade. The fruits of these sessions were featured on the 'Athlete's Face' demo EP materialised in 1999. The 7-track CD featured 'Pete's Peanuts', 'Serpant Star', 'Demonic Cathedral', 'Rhythm Of Love', 'I Like To Get Dressed', 'Funky Song' and 'Magic Mushrooms'. Later in that year, the band was chosen to appear on 'Origin - See The Light' compilation. Fuzzburger contributed 'Demonic Cathedral' and 'Rhythm Of Love' to the compilation.

While there was talk of a single release, it's not clear if this ever materialised. The band was still active as late as 2002, however, Fuzzburger eventually came to an end as band members moved abroad.
