OVERVIEW

Fiction was an indie-rock band from Sligo which was active during the last years of the 1990s and the first part of the new millennium. Formed while they were still at school the lineup featured Carthage Carroll [Vocals & Guitar], Tom Egan [Bass Guitar], John Paul Prior [Keyboards] and Brian McGowan [Drums]. Tom is the brother of Westlife favourite, Kian Egan.

The bans is known to have released at least two singles. The first of these, 'A Test Of Time' was released in 1998. However, it's the quartet's second single, 'Plastic Pop', which is, perhaps, best known.

The band was courting a lot of interest from record companies, however, it's not known if anything materialised fro these.

The band split sometime after this with Carthage going on to form Dreamchild before launching a solo career.
