CORK 1988 - 1995
OVERVIEW
The Fatima Mansions was an alternative rock band fronted by Cathal Coughlan. The group was formed in 1988 after the demise of Coughlan's previous outfit, Microdisney. The line up of the group was completed by Andrias O'Gruama [Guitar], Hugh Bunker [Bass Guitar], Nick Allum [Drums] and Zack Woolhouse [Keyboards].

The band released it's first single in 1989. 'Only Losers Take Ths Bus' would go on to be an indie classic. This was followed by the band's debut album, 'Against Nature' released later that year. The collection included the single as well as 7 other tracks including 'The Day I Lost Everything'. The band remained productive through its career with 4 further albums released - 'Viva Dead Ponies' [1991], 'Bertie's Brochures' [1991], 'Valhalla Avenue' [1992] and 'Lost In The Former West' [1994].

The band eventually split in about 1995 with Coughlan going on to pursue a solo career.
