NORTH CO. DUBLIN 2013 -
OVERVIEW
Fangclub is a grunge-influenced from North County Dublin. The 3-piece came together in 2013 with a shared admiration for the likes of The Foo Fighters and Nirvana. The three gents in question are Steven King [Vocals & Guitar], Kevin Keane [Bass Guitar] and Dara Coleman [Drums]. In October 2013, the group released a self-titled EP. The lead track was the excellent 'Alkalai' which was backed with 'Young Blood' and 'Transparent'. During this early period, the band may have also recorded an EP or Demo entitled 'LoFi', however, there are no further details away. It wasn't until more recently that the band really came to the fore. Fangclub was selected to participate in the 'Whelan's Ones To Watch 2016' Festival. The band played a typically energetic set upstairs in Whelan's in January of that year. A month late, the band released the rather wonderful 'Bullet Head' single - 2 minutes of grunge-rock perfection. The band is currently building up to the release of the full 'Bullet Head' EP which is to be released to coincide with Record Store Day 2016.
