OVERVIEW Doris started out in 2002 as an acoustic three piece band. The line up was increased to four a short time after. During the last few years the band has had several alterations until last year when the five piece Doris became the present four piece. Doris are quite satisfied that they have found the correct configuration to allow the band to develop into 2006 and indeed the future. Doris are originally a Clondalkin based band, however with the additions of new members that affiliation has become open to interpretation. The band continue to rehearse and operate from Clondalkin. Philip Redmond - 'Song writer' and 'lyricist', Phil was one of the original members of the band. Phil is recognised for his strong ranging vocals that have been described as 'powerful'. Phil's voice has assisted in branding Doris with an original unique sound. In addition to vocals Phil plays acoustic guitar. Paul Higgins - Paul was the last addition to the final Doris line up. Paul has completed a second level college course in sound engineering and has helped develop existing Doris songs with his overwhelming electric guitar, and effects that have enhanced the Doris sound. In addition to his guitar Paul also plays keyboard and is a capable song writer. Christopher Mc Donnell - Chris 'Gitser' Mc Donnell also featured in the original Doris line up. Chris' bass sound is also very original and consistently provides the necessery cushion in delivering the Doris sound. Chris is a larger then life character that thrives on the 'buzz' of the band. Kieran O Reilly - Kieran is a self-taught drummer who was a long awaited addition to Doris. Kieran is a passionate and animated individual that relishes music. He has been described as one of the driving forces behind the band. Kieran also plays the Bodhran. Doris have been playing live since their founding in 2002. They began playing support acts and small venues. In 2003 Doris had the privilege in playing the 'Phantom Benefit Night' charity gig in Whelans. It was here Doris shared the stage with various artists including Bell X1, Paddy Casey, The Frames, Maria Doyle Kennedy and others. 2006 - Release of 'Will I Ever Learn' single [27 January] - Release of 'Stop' single [29 September] 2009 - Release of 'The Working Title' album [18 July] - Release of 'Only The Good Ones' single [21 November]
