OVERVIEW

Disirt Tola was a group of musicians from Co. Clare who played traditional music. The group is famed for featuring a young Sharon Shannon amongst its number. The group also featurd Sharon's siblings Mary Majella and Garry as well as James Cullinan [Fiddle], Bernie Whelan [Fiddle], Joe Rynne [Fiddle], Tiernan Browne [Fiddle], Carol Talty [Piano], Ronan Browne [Pipes], Gearoid O’hAllbhurain [Concertina & Pipes], Brian Collins [Flute] and Michael Hehir [Drums].

The band is not known to have released any material. Mary and Sharon Shannon went on to perform together again in The Woodchoppers. Mary also joined Bumblebees with whom she released two acclaimed albums. She has also recorded a body of solo material. Sharon went on to a hugely successful solo career
