KELLS, CO. MEATH | 2006 - |
OVERVIEW Having played with a number of bands such as Blackhawx and Swampshack in his younger days, Ollie finally came to broader attention as the front man of Turn who released 3 albums and a number of singles throughout an eight year career. When Turn finally called it a day in 2006, Ollie set about forging a solo career. Over the coming months, he spent his time writing and performing his new songs. During this same period, Ollie also contributed to The Cake Sale project. He wrote the track 'Too Many People' which was performed by Glen Hansard on the album. Finally, in October 2009, Ollie released his debut solo EP, 'What Will You Do?'. Later than month, Ollie made an appearance at the annual Hard Working Class Heroes Festival in Dublin. His long awaited debut solo album 'We Albatri' was released on 26th March 2010. In 2013, Ollie released 'Little Wolf' as a limited edition 7" release of 100 copies. The track also received a digital release, however, the single's B-side 'Black Lily' remains exclusive to that 7" single. In July 2015, Ollie unveiled his second solo album, 'Year Of The Bird'. The album sees Cole mature further as a songwriter. Ollie also welcomes the musical talents of Glen Hansard, Gemma Hayes and former Turn bandmate, Gavin Fox. 2009 - Release of 'What Will You Do?'
