OVERVIEW Cyclefly was an alternative nu-metal band from Cork. The group originally came together in 1995 as Dogabone. Under that name, the five-piece released a self-titled EP later that same year. The EP featured 4 tracks in total. Two of these, '' and '' would later appear on Cyclefly's debut album. In 1997, Dogabone became Cyclefly. The lineup featured Declan O'Shea [Vocals] Ciaran O'Shea [Guitar], Nona Presta [Guitar], Christian Montagne [Bass Guitar] and Jean Michel Cavallo [Drums]. Over the course of the band's relatively short career, Cyclefly achieved cult status both in Ireland and abroad. The band released a pair of albums - 'Generation Sap' [1999] and 'Crave' [2002]. The second album featured guest vocals from Chester Bennington on 'Karma Killer'. However, in spite of the band's growing reputation, Cyclefly disbanded at the end of 2003, playing a final gig in April 2004. Post Cyclefly, the O'Shea brothers went on to form Hueman along with Christian. That project was short-lived but Declan and Christian would, subsequently, form Mako. Since the break up of Cyclefly, Jean Michel has been very active on the Cork music scene drumming with The Shades, Freezer Room and Slow Motion Heroes. 1997 - Cyclefly is born out of the ashes of Dogabone 1998 - Release of 'Crawl Down' EP 1999 - Release of 'Crawl Down' EP in the US - Release of 'Supergod' single - Release of 'Generation Sap' album - Release of 'Violet High' single 2002 - Release of 'No Stress' single [11 March] - Release of 'Crave' album [25 March] 2004 -Cyclefly play their final gig [April] |
