DRUMLISH, CO. LONGFORD 2012 -
OVERVIEW
Cronin is a band from the Irish Midlands. Brothers Johnny [Vocals, Keyboards & Guitar] and Michael [Drums, Percussion, Samples & Vocals] Cronin were born in Co. Longford. The family emigrated to Leeds where the brothers gew up before returning to the land of their birth. Once home, the pair formed The Aftermath who toured constantly and released a fine body of material incudung the album 'Friendlier Up Here'. In 2012, the brothers decided to form Cronin as a vehicle to explore a different musical direction.

The band's maiden released was simply entitled 'Introduction Recordings' which was a collection of material that had been around for a while. In 2013, the band released the 'In Loneliness Lives Love' EP which featured guest appearances from Shane MacGowan [ex-The Pogues] and Steve Wickham [ex-In Tua Nua, ex-The Waterboys]. Their next single was a cover version of the Gene Pitney classic, 'Something's Gotten Hold Of My Heart'.This track also featured a guest vocalist n the shape of Mark Greaney [ex-JJ72, ex-Concerto For Constantine].

2014 sat the release of a new single,'How Far Do You Want This To Go?' The band spent the Summer on the festival circuit wih notable appearances at the likes of Indiependence and the Electric Picnic. A further EP, 'Nelson Riddle' was released in early 2015.
