DUBLIN 2004 -
OVERVIEW
Crayonsmith is the stage name of one Ciaran Smith from Dublin. He emerged on the scene in 2004 as a solo artist. However, over the years he has co-opted like-minded individuals to join the project. Amongst these have been Ruadhan O'Meara [The Coldspoon Conspiracy, Hermie In Tweed, No Spill Blood as well as several others] and Ronan Jackson [The Coldspoon Conspiracy, Jogging]. More recently, Ciaran has enlisted the services of Wayne Dunlea [Waiting Room, Hooray For Humans] and Richie O'Neill [Guilty Optics, Koalacord].

In August 2004, Ciaran released his debut EP, 'You Get Down Here' on his own Stay Loose Records imprint. The EP was well received and led to him getting gigs with bands such as Giveamanakick and Neosupervital. In December of that same year, Crayonsmith contributed the track 'Christmas At The Zoo' to a split single with Windings. The track is a cover of The Flaming Lips song.

In 2006, Crayonsmith released its debut album, ''Stay Loose'. Since then, two further records have followed - 'White Wonder' [2008] and 'Milk Teeth [2013].
