OVERVIEW Colourtide were formed during the 90's. Band influences and individual member influences all mixed together to give Colourtide a sound of its own. During the 90's Cork City had its core group of musicians and an interesting live music scene which produced some great bands like Burning Embers, Belsonic Sound, Grapefruit Moon, Perfect World, Rubyhorse (now in the states and signed). Colourtide and its core members have always kept the nose to the grindstone, working with sequences, samples, the internet - assimulating technology and incorporating it into the band for forward progression. From 1999 onwards recording material became the prime focus. John, Aidan, Alison and Humphrey went into the studio and recorded 4 tracks - the beginning of Underwater, the album. The final touches appeared at the end of 2000, as both John and Aidan had now invested in Digital Studio setups allowing better control and easier completion of material. As the workrate continues, J & A are constantly producing more new, new stuff for the next album. 2001 - Release of 'Underwater' album
