DUBLIN 2011 -
OVERVIEW
Cold Comfort is a blues-influenced rock band from Dublin. The group is the brainchild of front man Rob Walsh who had been plying his trade as a solo artist for a number of years. Rob finally decided to put a band together and this signalled the start of Cold Comfort. Drummer Colm Hasset (formerly of Whipping Boy) was one of the first to respond. Colm recommended Joey McGowan as bass guitarist in the band. The pair had played together in a number of post Whipping Boy bands including Shadow Cabinet and The Shitty Shit Shits. The final pieces of the jigsaw were completed with the addition of Anna Doran on vocals and Eoin Morrissey [Guitar].

The band hit thr ground running and quickly secured a support slot on Whipping Boy's 'Periscopes Up' tour. A similar support slot with Alabama 3 followed shortly afterwards. Rob forged a strong relationship with the Alabama 3 crew which resulted in him co-writing a number of tracks for their 'Shoplifting 4 Jesus' album. In addition to these prestigious slots, the band has also been very active on the local festival circuit playing the likes of 'Knockandstockan' in 2011 as well as the 'Vantastival', 'No Place Like Dome' and 'Knockandstockan' festivals in 2012.

Cold Comfort released its debut EP in August 2011. The eponymously-titled collection featured 'Sweet Light', 'Bury Your Head' and 'Ghosts Of Dublin'.
