BELFAST | 2004 - 2008 |
CODA are a heavy alternative rock band with female vocalist/guitarist based in Belfast. CODA formed in May 2004 and were gigging with a strong set by August that year. Described by Across the Line, as having ‘thunderous riffs’ and ‘punchy frantic rhythm’ CODA continued to gig through the year, and were privileged to be the band to kick off the annual ‘Belfest ‘04’’ proceedings as well as playing the limelight stage in January ’05 along with other bands such as Therapy. The CODA blended their creative, varying backgrounds to create a unique blend of alternative rock music. Their influences span from pretty girls make graves, the used, thrice, Queens of the Stone Age, Skunk Anansie, to that of Prince! CODA are currently making plans to record a demo at the North Down and Ards Institute of Further and Higher Education to help students learn the recording techniques and provide the latest demo release for CODA. CODA will also be gigging further afield as well as continuing to play local gigs to help support the up-and-coming Belfast music Scene. 2004 - Band formed [May] 2005 - Jason Hawthorne leaves the band.
