‘Brilliant, pure rock’n’roll’ THE EVNET GUIDE ‘Mindblowing … should be the album of 2007’ KÍLA Debut album Straight In No Kissin’ for release in March/April The mighty Clay Dolls have been compared to the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Leonard Cohen, PJ Harvey, Iggy and the Stooges and Elvis Costello. The combination of Eoin O’Brien’s passionate songwriting, singing and guitar playing with the muscular bass of Brian O’Toole and the masterful pounding of drummer Dave Griffin creates a sound ranging from ear-bleeding rock’n’roll mayhem to sublime melodic pop. The energy of a three-piece is teamed with the pop sensibilities of this tight and punchy musical unit. Clay Dolls are releasing the single ‘Chasin My Tail’ in January 2007, and their debut album Straight In No Kissin’, recorded by Grammy-nominated engineer Ciarán Cahill, March/April. They will be playing Irelandwide throughout the next few months. contact: linda@claydolls.net Eoin OBrien (vocals, guitars, keys) has wide-ranging musical experience, having played with over fifty bands, including rocking trad lunatics Kíla and legendary three-piece The Cookers. He has composed music for childrens and adults television shows and for radio plays, as well as for dance shows, art installations and talking books. He is also an experienced recording engineer and music producer, and has recorded nearly every conceivable style of music and noise. He has co-produced Rónán OSnodaighs new album, The Last Mile Home, as well as playing guitar and Rhodes piano on it. Brian OToole (bass, vocals) has also played with a huge number of acts, including Paddy Casey, Dejimbe, Mark Dignam, The Four Tops, Paul Hourican, George Murphy, Pinkie, The Racketeers, Brian Roche and Roesy. He has made many television and radio appearances, and done a lot of session recording work. He has also worked with tribute shows such as the Boogie Allstars, The Glitter Bugs, Charlies Angels, Abbaesque and The Usual Suspects.
