Catchers have at last released 'Stooping
To Fit' and to be perfectly frank... it's
the best album I've heard all year. You could be forgiven that this lot were simply masters of the jangly heartfelt plea given past honourable releases, but here they manage to display facets that I was unaware of previously. They've never placed themselves in any particular pigeon-hole, and it's just as well given the variation we're treated to: the distortion and bitterness of 'This Is Not My Home', the sheer off the wall-ness of 'Ribbons' or the orchestration of the beautifully said 'When I Get Over You'... they all combine to give the impression that the years of the hard slog have finally paid off, this is the album they were destined to make... and it will make them. Again this is the best I've heard all year, buy it! |
