OVERVIEW Formed in 1998, and fronted by the brilliant John Paul Laffan, The Carnival Saloon began life interpreting the songs of Tom Waits and very quickly built up a huge cult following. Their first recording was a live CD recorded in Dublin featuring songs from the Tom Waits catalogue. They have also written and recorded for the soundtrack of the award-winning feature film "Exiled" and have just released their first studio album in their own right entitled; "The Carnival Saloon.... Are Going to Hell" In an industry over saturated by singer songwriters, The Carnival Saloon are a refreshing change, and while their awesome live show is unlike anything you will have seen before, it's definitely something you will want to see again, and again. Their unique brand of "musical theatre" which features a broad range of percussive instruments, in the most unusual form, such as; sledgehammers, a steel dustbin, scrap iron, and a ladder - we kid you not! alongside drums, guitars, and keyboards is definitely not to be missed by anybody with a sense of musical adventure. 1998 - Band formed 2007 - Release of 'The Carnival Saloon ...
