ATHLONE, CO. WESTMEATH, LIMERICK, DUBLIN, HAMBURG [GERMANY] 1997 - 2002
OVERVIEW
Brando or Bran'do as they were sometimes called were an alternative rock band based in Dublin. The band was formed in 1997 by Elton Mullally [Vocals, Acoustic Guitar & Bass Guitar] and the lineup was completed by Brian Joyce [Vocals & Lead Guitar], Stefan Dworak [Guitar & Bass Guitar] and Satya D'arcy [Drums & Vocals]

The band was named Virgin Megastores / Tennants Unsigned Band Of 1998. They followed this in 1999 by winning the 2FM / Eurodisney Band Of The Year. The following years saw the band play extensively across Ireland and the UK all the while building a fanbase and garnering excellent reviews from the critics.

In 2001, Brando released their debut EP, 'Singular Death Of Privacy'. A three-track single version of the same track was released the following year. However, the band split later that year. Elton Mullally went on to present the music show 'When Under Ether' with Michelle Doherty before picking up Bass again to play with The iKonics. Satya went on to perform as part of Sean Needham's band.
