DUBLIN | BRISBANE [AUSTRALIA] 2003 - 2005
OVERVIEW
The Blue Poles was a rock band which was active from about 2003 - 2005. The group was originally formed in Dublin in 2003 by Australian Rowan [Vocals & Guitar], Phil Murray [Drums] and Enda Bates [Bass Guitar]. Phil had played with Holy Ghost Fathers while Enda was recording his own music under the moniker Fairlights. However, in 2004 Rowan decided to return to Australia and settled in the Melbourne area. As it happened, Phil decided to join him down under. The pair then recruited Irishman Paul Arthurs on Bass Guitar. Paul had previously played with 46 Long.

The group subsequently relocated to Australia where they released the 'Peacock Feathers' EP in 2005. This is understood to be the band's only release.

After the band split in 2005, Phil returned to Ireland where he went on play with The Long Knives and Glimmermen.
