DUBLIN 1999 - 2003
OVERVIEW
Blotooth was an indie -pop band from Dublin. While the band was formed in 1999, the lineup may have played together for a few years as The Swing. Blotooth featured Myles O'Reilly [Vocals & Guitar], Dara Diffley [Bass Guitar] and David Shakespeare [Drums]. The band found it difficult in the early days to gain record company support, so they adopted a DIY approach - recording, designing and pressing CDs themselves. Phantom FM became strong supporters of the band and played their music regularly.

The band made its first official recorded release in 2001 in the shape of the 'Leather Tassels' single. Later that year, Blotooth contributed the track 'Give Up The Day Job' to the 'It's All Good' compilation on Phutloose Records. The following year, the song was released as the band's next single. Blotooth recorded a version of 'White Christmas' for the 'It's All Bells' Christmas compilation, also on Phutloose Records.

In 2003, the band changed its name to Juno Falls and went on to release 2 full length albums - 'Starlight Drive' [2004] and 'Weightless' [2007]. In 2010, David Shakespeare joined Rory & The Island. While the group's existence was short, the group left a lasting impression on the Irish musical landscape, having created some sublime indie-pop music.
