BELFAST 2005 -
OVERVIEW
Alloy Mental are a industrial dance/rock band based in Belfast. The trio, consisting of Phil Kieran, Martin Corrigan and Danny Todd, came together in 2005. Martin had previously fronted Corrigan who had released a series of singles and an album in the early part of the decade. Phil Kieran had been involved in the music industry as a respected producer and remixer. He had been working on material for an album but had failed to find the right vocalist. Martin fitted the bill perfectly. Danny Todd, who had also played with Corrigan as well as several other groups, was the final piece of the jigsaw.

By the end of 2005, the band had already released a pair of singles - the eponymously-titled debut release 'Alloy Mental' and a follow up called 'Gotta Love'. The band were also beginning to make a stir on the scene and could count the likes of Andrew Weatherall, Laurent Garnier and Pete Tong among their fans. A further single, the double A-Side, 'We Have Control / Liar Face' followed in the Spring of 2006. The band then focused their attention at putting the finishing touches to their debut long player, 'We Have Control'. The album was released in 2007.

In 2008, the band set about recording material for a follow up release. However, these tracks have not seen the light of day. As of 2009, Phil Kieran had released his debut solo album entitled 'Shh'. Martin Corrigan re-emerged fronting a new outfit John Edgar Voe. As well as others, the line up also included Danny Too, who also found time for his Cashier No. 9 duties.
