LONGFORD | MULLINGAR, CO. WESTMEATH 2006 - 2012
OVERVIEW
The Aftermath was a mod-influenced band from the Irish midlands. The band centred around the Cronin brothers - born in Longford, raised in Leeds and back in Ireland to rock out in venues up and down the country. The full line up of the band was Johnny Cronin [Vocals, Keyboards, Guiatar], Michael Cronin [Drums, Percussion. Samples & Vocals], Justin McNabb [Guitar], Helen Turner [Piano & Hammond Organ], Duncan Patterson [Bass Guitar], Martin Gray [Bass Guitar] and Shane Wearan [Mandolin]. The band took its name from the 1966 Rolling Stones album which was a favourite of the Cronin Brothers.

The band burst on to the scene and released a string of singles over the following two years. These releases included 'One Is Fun / Are You Not?', 'Hollywood Remake / Need' and 'All I Want Is For You To Be Happy'. Each of these entered the Irish Top 20. The group released a further single, 'Are You Not Wanting Me Yet?' in early 2008. The band's debut album, 'Friendlier Up Here' was released in April of that year. The record peaked at number 26 on theIrish album charts. 2009 saw the band release another series of singles which culminated with a cover version of Frankie Goes To Hollywood's classic, 'The Power Of Love'.

In 2012, the Cronin brothers announced that they were planning to refocus their musical activities as Cronin. However, the band equally clarified that it intended to retain The Aftermath moniker. The plan was to use Cronin for the band's original material with The Aftermath name being used for collaborative work
