LIMERICK 2001 -
OVERVIEW
Acoustra is a folk-rock band from Limerick. The four-piece came together in about 2001. The lineup includes Liam McCarthy [Vocals, Guitar, Mandolin & Banjo], Dylan Shine [Vocals, Bass Guitar & Acoustic Guitar], Pat Wright [Vocals & Accordion] and Brian Bermingham [Drums & Percussion]. The group originally came together as a way for the four to have some fun. The band originally played a mixture of covers and original material, however, the group has been including more and more of its own work.

The band's debut single was released in 2010. The single, 'Aynu (The Tiny Dancer)' was inspired by one of the band's trips to Baku in Azerbaijan. Next up for the group was 'The Way It Used To Be' which followed in March 2011.
